Technically a microorganism or microbe is an organism that is microscopic. The study of microorganisms is called microbiology. Microorganisms can be bacteria, fungi, archaea or protists.

Types of microorganisms are as follows :-

  • Bacteria
  • Archaea
  • Protozoa
  • Algae
  • Fungi
  • Viruses
  • Multicellular animal parasites (helminths).
