A mirage occurs during a hot and sunny day. It is a phenomenon when the surface air gets heated up and it becomes lighter, moves higher up in the atmosphere.

When this occurs then light from cooler areas to warmer areas are refracted and bent upwards.Mirage is a common phenomenon that occurs in a desert.
