A molecule is an electrically neutral group of two or more atoms held together by chemical bonds. Molecules are distinguished from ions by their lack of electrical charge.

I hope it helps uhhh✌✌✌

MOLECULES DEFINATION

★ A Molecule is the smallest particle in a chemical element or compound that has the chemical properties of that element or compound.

★ Molecules are made up of atoms that are held together by chemical bonds.

★ These bonds form as a result of the sharing or exchange of electrons among atoms.

EXAMPLES OF MOLECULES

Here are examples of common molecules :-

  • H2O (Water)

  • N2 (Nitrogen)

  • O3 (Ozone)

  • CaO (Calcium oxide)

  • C6H12O6 (Glucose)

  • NaCl (Table salt)

FORMATION OF MOLECULES

● When two or more atoms chemically bond together, they form a molecule.

● Sometimes the atoms are all from the same element.

● In a covalent bond, electrons are shared between atoms.

● The bonds between the two hydrogen atoms and the oxygen atom in a molecule of water are covalent bonds.
