NATURAL RESOURCES :-

Natural resources are the materials are created in nature that are used by humans.

for example - oil, metals, water, soil etc.

There are 2 types of natural resources -

1. Renewable resources

2. Non-Renewable resources

1. RENEWABLE RESOURCES:-

These resources can be used again and again, as they are renewed in nature.

for example - air, sunlight, plants etc

2. NON-RENEWABLE RESOURCES:-

These resources do not renew itself, and cannot be used again and again.

for example - minerals, fossil fuels, coal etc.

  • Many materials that we use for different purposes today come from various sources present in nature.

  • Soil, water, air, petrol etc. are called natural resources.

TYPES OF NATURAL RESOURCES :

Natural Resources can be classified as

  • Inexhaustible

  • Exhaustible

INEXHAUSTIBLE NATURAL RESOURCES :

Resources which do not exhaust and which are available in plenty in nature are known as inexhaustible natural resources.

  • They are also called as renewable sources of energy.

  • Some energy sources like air and water are not exhaustible on usage. Hence these are called Inexhaustible resources.

Ex.. Air, water, sunlight, etc.

  • Wind is an important natural resource. Sail boats and sailing ships have been using wind power for thousands of years.

  • Windmills were used to grind corn and to pump sea water to make salt.

EXHAUSTIBLE NATURAL RESOURCES :

Resources which get exhausted and are not available in nature in plenty and are known as exhaustible natural resources.

  • They take very long time to get replenished. They are also called as Non-renewable sources of energy.

  • Coal and Petroleum ete, are the energy sources which are exhaustible on usage.

Example: Forests, wildlife, Wood, Coal, petroleum, minerals, etc.
