A pastoral society is a nomadic group of people who travel with a herd of domesticated animals. The pastoral economy is of two types namely
- Nomads
- Transhumance
This type of economy exists in desert or northern climates where vegetation is scanty. Since they cannot raise crops, they rely on the meat and dairy of the herds. The types of animal used in this economy are sheep, camels, buffalo, reindeer, cattles and goats.
