Placenta is a disc like structure embedded in the uterine wall
•it provides nutrition to the embryo as well as transfer the wastes to mothers blood
• It has villi on the embryonic side And blood spaces on the mothers side.

the disc like structure through which the embryo gets nourishment from the mother's body is known as placenta
it helps in excreation of waste from the embryo and it also helps in respiration of the embryo
