Answer:

A surface within a single crystal of a semiconductor at which there is an abrupt change in doping from acceptor to donor type is called a pn-junction. One method of fabricating a pn-junction is to introduce acceptor impurities from one end and donor impurities from thenopposite end of an intrinsic semiconductor crystal. This brings about the change from a p-type to an n-type region in a very short length called the pn-junction

The thickness of the junction between p and n regions is of the order of \sf{10}^{-6}m. The impurity concentrations in the p-and n-sides, and thus the majority charge carrier densities, usually differ by a factor of 10 or \sf{10^2} or even more.

Answer:

hi dear....

Explanation:

☆A PN-junction is formed when an N-type material is fused together with a P-type material creating a semiconductor diode.

☆A p-n junction is an interface or a boundary between two semiconductor material types, namely the p-type and the n-type, inside a semiconductor. The p-side or the positive side of the semiconductor has an excess of holes and the n-side or the negative side has an excess of electrons.

☆It can also be used as a solar cell. P-N junction forward bias condition is used in all LED lighting applications. The voltage across the P-N junction biased is used to create Temperature Sensors, and Reference voltages. It is used in many circuits' rectifiers, varactors for voltage-controlled oscillators.
