Potential difference = Work done /Charge.

here

V is the potential difference

W is the work done

Q is the charge

✧ SI unit of electric potential energy is volt (V).

1 volt : If 1 joule of work is done in taking 1 coulomb of charge from one point to another , the potential difference between the points is 1 volt.

1 Volt = 1Joule/1Coulomb

✧ The Potential difference is measured by an instrument called the Voltameter.
