The reaction in which One reactant gets oxidised while the other one gets reduced during a reaction is known as redox reaction...

There are few of them¤¤

Answer: Redox reaction is a reaction in which oxidation and reduction takes place simultaneously.

Oxidation is a reaction in which electrons are lost and thus there is an increase in the oxidation number.

Reduction is a reaction in which electrons are gained and thus there is a decease in the oxidation number.

Zn+Cu^{2+}\rightarrow Zn^{2+}+Cu

In the above reaction, Zinc undergoes oxidation as it loses electrons and get converted to Zn^{2+} and Cu^{2+} undergoes reduction as it gains electrons and get converted to Cu with oxidation number zero.

Thus this is an example of redox reaction.
