it is speedy spontaneous action in response to internal and external stimulus.
reflex arc is a part of reflex action.
ex:- withdrawal of hand on touching hot object.
withdrawal of hand on touching sharp pointed needle
salivation on seeing delicious food.

reflex action is an involuntary action which is always empower by spinal cord.It is emergency action because for e.g .if we touch an hot object then we immediately takes our hand away from that hot object.It also increases the survival and protects from external injury.
