The nerves way for neural pathway over which impulses travel to produce a reflex action, consisting of at least one afferent (receptor) and one efferent (effector) neuron.

Reflex arc is the nerve pathway which makes such a fast ,automatic response possible .It doesnot matter how brainy you are - you will always pull your hand away from a flame without thinking about it .It is built in it, or innate ,behavoiur ,and we all behave in the same way.
