Router:

router is a communication device that is used to connect two different networks such as to Alliance for w a n it chooses the best route for the data packets to be sent from the sender to receiver.

Repeater:

a repeater is a communication device used to re generate a signal repeaters are needed so that the signal can travel longer distances with same strength.

It is basically a network device which routes the information around the network.

In simpler words, it finds the best possible way / route to forward the message from one computer on the network to another.

Repeater

It simply copies the information arriving at its input and retransmits it from the output.

For eg - When a message is passed through a long distance, it generally happens that the signal may get weakened.

This is required at the times when the network signal is weakened or distorted. This happens id the network passes through an area having strong electromagnetic fields. The weakened or distorted signals at the input are regenerated and then retransmitted by the repeated.
