A saturated solution is a solutionwhich cannot contain any more dissolved solute, so to prepare a saturated solution of sugar water, youwould slowly add sugar and stir until the solution reaches the point at which it cannot dissolve more solute and thesugar you add sinks to the bottom in solid form.
