What is a scaler and vector quantity? (defination difference meaning use/need ) urgent need tommorow is my exam plz in a huge confusion

Scalar means of or relating to a directionless magnitude (such as mass or speed etc.) that is completely specified by its magnitude.
Vector means a straight line segment whose length is magnitude and whose orientation in space is direction.
