A secular state is an idea pertaining to secularity, whereby a state is or purports to be officially neutral in matters of religion, supporting neither religion nor irreligion.

India is actually perfect example of secularism. A secular state is on one that does not confer any favour on any particular religion. In an secular state no one gets punishment or no one is discrimination on th people on the basis of religion he or she follow.
