The only possibility of similarity between pen, knife, water and oxygen is they all have one "e".  

The only logical similarity which can be drawn from all these words is the presence of the letter e in them.

As we can see pen has one "E".

Similarly knife, water and oxygen also has one e common in them.

Apart from this one similarity there are no possible reason by which these terms can be similar.
