Skeleton Equations are the equations in which there is only chemical formula of reactants and products but no state mentioned and no balancing of atoms on either side of Equation done.

For example: Mg + O2 → MgO, it’s a skeleton equation.

Here, the only thing mentioned is the chemical formula of reactants: Magnesium(Mg), oxygen (O2) and products: Magnesium Oxide(MgO).

Balanced Equation is like: 2Mg(s) + O2(g) → 2MgO(s).
