Species Survival Commission (SSC) is one of six commissions committees in the World Wildlife Conservation Union ( IUCN ), whose purpose is to map the soil's condition within its field and to provide members with knowledge and advice on environmental issues. SSC consists of a scientific network of more than 10,000 volunteer professionals, distributed in more than 140 specialist groups, providing advice on technical aspects of conservation of biodiversity . The Commission oversees the state and threats of all world species , including entries on the IUCN Red List . SSC's specialist groups work with specific groups or species .
