Synapse → Junction between two adjacent nerves...

Chemical synapse and electrical synapse is that in a chemical synapse, the nerve impulse passes chemically by means of neurotransmitters whereas an electrical synapse is connected through channel proteins. ... Therefore, electrical synapses are much faster than the chemical synapses.

SYNAPSE- a junction between two nerve cells, consisting of a minute gap across which impulses pass by diffusion of a neurotransmitter.

KINDS-

✓ Chemical synapses are specialized junctions through which cells of the nervous system signal to one another and to non-neuronal cells such as muscles or glands. A chemical synapse between a motor neuron and a muscle cell is called a neuromuscular junction.

✓ Electrical Synapses.

In these synapses the membranes of the two cells actually touch, and they share proteins. This allows the action potential to pass directly from one membrane to the next. They are very fast, but are quite rare, found only in the heart and the eye.
