Synapse - It is a gap between the axon endings of one neuron and dendrites of next neuron.

At the axon endings the electrical impulse is converted into neurotransmitter fluid which is absorbed by the dendrites of another neuron and again converted into electrical impulse.

This speeds up the impulses from neuron to neuron.
