computers in a network have to be connected in some logical manner. The layout pattern of the interconnections between computer in a network is called network topology .

There are two types of networking topologies they are.. 1) Physical topology

2) Logical topology

• There are a number of different types of network topologies including point - to - point , bus , star , ring mesh , tree and hybrid .
• Bus topology ... uses a single cable which connect all the included nodes .
• Ring topology... every device has exactly two neighbouring devices for communication purpose.
• Star topology... all the computers connect with the help of hub .
• Mesh topology ... this topology has unique network design in which each computer on the network connects to every other .
• Tree topology ... tree topology have a root node, and all other nodes are connected while forming a hierarchy .
• Hybrid topology... it combines two or more topologies .
