A windmill is a structure that produces electrical energy. It consists of 3 main components, blades, rotor, and a generator. Three blades are attached to a rotor which is placed on a tower that is high above the ground. The main advantage of wind energy is that harnessing it doesn't disrupt natural processes or harm the environment, unlike a lot of other energy sources. To generate electricity on a large scale, a number of windmills are set up over a large area, called a wind energy farm.

a tall building or structure with long parts (sails) that turn in the wind. In past times windmills were used for making flour from grain, but now they are used mainly for producing electricity.
Advantage of Wind Power. It's a clean fuel source. Wind energy doesn't pollute the air like power plants that rely on combustion of fossil fuels, such as coal or natural gas. Wind turbines don't produce atmospheric emissions that cause acid rain or greenhouse gasses.
