Acceleration :-

Acceleration of a body is defined as the rate of change of velocity its with time.

Acceleration = Change in velocity/ Time taken for change

  • SI unit of acceleration is m/s².

  • Acceleration is a vector quantity.

  • When a body is moving with uniform velocity, its acceleration will be zero.

More details :-

Uniform acceleration :-

A body has a uniform acceleration if it travels in a straight line with its velocity increases by equal amounts in equal intervals of time.

Example :-

  • The motion of a freely falling body is an example of uniformly accelerated motion.

Non uniform acceleration :-

A body has a non- uniform acceleration if its velocity increases by unequal amounts in equal intervals of time.

Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity. Usually, acceleration means the speed is changing, but not always. When an object moves in a circular path at a constant speed, it is still accelerating, because the direction of its velocity is changing.
