acceleration refers to rate of change of velocity of an object with respect to time
eg: is the speed of car increase or decrease is known as acceleration
the negative acceleration is known as the retardation
deceleration: to decrease velocity
eg: anytime you are in a vehicle you are supposed to feel that you are moving forward

both acceleration and deceleration is measured in terms of gravitational acceleration
