In mechanics, acceleration is the rate of change of the velocity of an object with respect to time. Accelerations are vector quantities. The orientation of an object's acceleration is given by the orientation of the net force acting on that object.

Formula :-

acceleration=\frac{(final\;velocity)-(initial\;velocity)}{time} \\ \\ \\acceleration=\frac{change\;in\;velocity}{time}a=\frac{v_{f}-v_{i}}{t}

Answer:

Acceleration, rate at which velocity changes with time, in terms of both speed and direction. A point or an object moving in a straight line is accelerated if it speeds up or slows down. Motion on a circle is accelerated even if the speed is constant, because the direction is continually changing.
