Acceleration

The rate of change of velocity of an object is called Acceleration of the object.

Acceleration = change in velocity/ time interval

  • it is a vector quantity.
  • it is positive if the velocity is increasing and is negative if the velocity.
  • the negative acceleration is also called retardation.
  • Unit :SI = m/s^2,in CGS cm/s^2
