Acid : Substance which have pH value less than 7.
They are sour in taste.
They give H+ ion, when mixed with water.
They turn blue litmus paper into red.
Example : lemon juice, HCl etc.
Base: Substance which have pH value more than 7.
They are bitter in taste.
They give OH- ion, when mixed with water.
They turn red litmus paper into blue.
example : soap solution, NaOH etc.
