We know that all substance are divided as solids, liquid and gases on the basis of their physical state. substances can be divided in other ways also.sometime we use the sense of taste to group the substances. for example: fruit like lemon,orange, raw, apple taste sour. similarly,substances like bitter gourd taste bitter.sugar tastes sweet while some substances are salty in taste. The sourness or Bitterness i substances is due to presence of acid or base i them.
