Pollutants like sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide liberated into the air by industries reacts with water vapour in air to form sulphuric acid and nitric acid. These acids come down as rain, called acid rain.
CAUSES-
The biggest sources are coal-burning power plants, factories, and automobiles. When humans burn fossil fuels, sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) are released into the atmosphere.
Acid rain also causes aluminum to be released into the soil, which makes it difficult for trees to take up water.
