What is acid rain what are its ill effects?

Acid rain - harmful gases such as sulphar dioxide nitrogen dioxide and carbon dioxide are the major sources of air pollution... when thes gases react with water present in the clouds acids are formed during rain then acids get dissolve in the rain water and produced acid rain this process is called acid rain.





The harmful effects of acid rains- (1) acid rain makes a soil more acidic and less fertile...the soil becomes unfit for farming..
(2) it causes the damage to plant and trees ....
(3) it is harmful for all aquatic animals and plants......

acid rain can be extremely harmful to forests. Acid rain that seeps into the ground can dissolve nutrients such as magnesium and calcium, that trees need to be healthy. Acid rain also causes aluminium to be released into the soil , which makes it difficult for trees to take up water.
