Acid rain is a rain which is formed when oxides of nitrogen, sulphur and water vapour mixes with the normal rain.
First,in case of sulphur ....
S+O2=So2
then,again
2SO2+O2=2SO3
in case of nitrogen,
N2+O2=2NO
then it gets oxidized to form nitrogen dioxide.
2NO+O2=2NO2
then if nitrogen dioxide combines with water to form a mixture of nitrous avid and nitric acid.
2NO2+H2O=HNO2+HNO3.
