Active voice:

  • When the verb speaks of its subject as acting, it is said to be in active voice.

Passive voice:

  • When the verb speaks of its subject and being acted upon a having something done to it, it is called to be in Passive voice.

Points to consider when changing voice from active to passive or vice versa.

  • If the sentences is imperative[order, command, request, warning] and does not carry a subject then 'let be' should be used.

Example:

Drink water

⇢Let the water be drunk.
