Active Mass -

=> It is an old term used for concentration.

=> Active mass means concentration of reactants expressed in mole per litre or pressure of reactive gases which is generally expressed in atm.

Extra Information

=> Since density of solid and liquid does not change also molar weight is always constant for a substance therefore active mass of pure solid and liquid remains constant.

=> According to IUPAC convention active mass of the our solid and pure liquid is taken as 1.
