Answer :-

In general terms, an "Active site" can can be defined as a part of the specific 3-dimensional structure of an enzyme.

Extra Information :-

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • An enzyme may consist of more than one active site.
  • The active sites of most of the enzymes are located at the points which are very close to the surface of the enzymes.
  • The active site serves as a "Lock" into which the reactant substrate gets bound as a "Key", leading to the formation of an "Enzyme-Substrate" (ES) complex.
  • The point on the surface of the enzyme where the substrate gets bound to the active site, is known as the "Substrate binding site".
