a chiral carbon is the one to which all the groups attached are different or u may say that an unsymmetrical carbon is called a chiral carbon if a compound has an unsymmetrical carbon then it would exhibit chirality. A chiral molecules is non super imposable on it's own mirror image. i.e it can exhibit optical rotation
