"Identity just means same, i.e any operation you do with a respective number, yields the same number."

# Additive identity:
A property of mathematical set, when a number is added any other number yields the same number is called additive identity.

Zero is the additive identity of all real numbers.

Examples:
5+0=5
10+0=10
5/2+0=5/2
0.548+0=0.548

# Multiplicative identity: A property of mathematical set, when a number is multiplied any other number yields the same number is called multiplicative identity.

1 is the multiplicative inverse of all real number.

Examples:
5×1=5
1/5×1=1/5
0.666×1=0.666
