✴ ADJECTIVE

A word that gives more information about noun or pronoun, by selecting or restricting it's meaning; as funny, dark, good, bad etc.

✴ TYPES

▪ Proper adjective
Proper adjective describes a thing by referring it to some proper noun as;.
The Indian Plains - The plains of India.

▪ Descriptive Adjective
Descriptive adjective shows what quality or in what state, persons or things are; as a brave boy , a sick man etc.

▪Quantative Adjective
It shows the quantity or degree of a thing, it shows how much of a thing is meant as; much, little etc.

▪Numeral Adjective
It shows,
1) how many persons or things are meant, or 2)in what order a person or thing is.

Numeral adjective are of two kinds...

• Definite Numeral Adjective -: Denotes exact number.

• Indefinite Numeral Adjective -: Not exact number.

▪Demonstrative Adjectives
Show which or what person or things are intended to be pointed out.

They are of two kinds

•Definite Demonstrative adjective: When a person or thing is pointed out exactly.

• Indefinite Demonstrative adjective: When a adjective points put in a certain sense, but not exactly.

▪ Distributive Adjectives
Show that the person or thing named are taken separatly or in a separate lots.

▪Interrogative Adjectives
respect the application of a noun by asking a question; as What a book is that; Which book do you like?

▪Exclamatory Adjectives
Only "what" is used as exclamatory adjective ;as what fine books you have bought.

▪Possessive Adjectives
The words my, they, your, his, thier, it's, our. When used attributively (before noun) are called possessive adjective; as My hat, His name.

▪Emphasizing Adjectives
The word "very" and "Own"maybe used to emphasize a possessive Adjective; as
We saw it with our own eyes. Or
It happened before our very eyes.
