Adjective phrase

prepositional phrases and participale phrases also function as adjectives, so we can also call them adjective phrase.

when they functions as an adjective to modify (or tell about) a noun or a pronoun in a sentence. it consists of adjective and other modifiers.

1. He is wearing a nice white Shirt. (modifies,shirt)

2.He gave me a glass full of water.(modifies, girl)

3.A boy from America won therace.(modfies,boy)

in above sentences, the part 'near a wall ’ is a Phrase because it does not contain a subject and a verb, and does not express a complete idea. hence, a phrase cannot stand as a sentence on its own .
