Answer:

  • Being admitted to Bifocal College means taking courses on vocational subjects formulated by the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET).

  • These courses can be taken up as an additional/ add-ons subjects with Commerce, Arts and Science stream. The Bifocal courses are worth 200 marks. The list for HSVC stream and bifocal courses are released in the Zero round- round that is generally held before the regular rounds. Generally, Junior Colleges commence their admissions of intra-institutional in-house quota, management quota and minority quota with the Zero round.

  • After the Zero round is held, three regular admission rounds are conducted for admission to all streams. Candidates who do not get admission in the Zero round can then participate in the regular rounds.  Bifocal courses are taken if you don't want to take biology and second language in FYJC, i.e. you can take electronics, computer science, electrical maintenance, etc(any one of them) in place of biology, and second language.

  • If you want to do engineering then these subject are the best, we don't have to study much and this subject is having 100 marks of practical so this can be a scoring subject for 12th. Just you have to study for 100 marks as well as the good thing is that these 100 marks are distributed in 50–50 marks of 2 paper i.e. Paper-1(50 marks), Paper 2(50 marks). So bifocal courses are the best if you want to do engineering.

  • The bifocal course, which comprises six vocational subjects including computer science, civil engineering, electrical and mechanical maintenance, is offered at the junior college level under the science stream.
