Age composition is used to denote the segregation of people based upon their age.

Usually this classification is done based upon the following categories:

1. Children: The age of people belonging to this category includes 0-14 years. They are usually involved in games, schooling and entertainment.

2. Adult: This category includes grown up male and female who are involved in earning wages and have independent thinking ability. Usually age of this group ranges from 15-60 years.

3. Old or aged: The people who are aged above 58 are considered as aged and they are dependent on others for their survival.
