◆ this agenda was adopted in the first ever conference on environment and development was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. ( 1992 )
◆ some of the objectives were:

• eradication of poverty.
• combating deforestation
• conservation of biological diversity.
• management of radioactive waste.
