Agriculture is the most important primary activity. Systematic utilisation of resources begin agriculture. Man started leading a settled life when he learnt the process of growing crops. This give him a more dependable source of food supply than gathering and hunting. 'Agriculture' is primary activity which involves the science and art of cultivation the soil, raising crops and rearing of livestock. The word agriculture is derived from Latin word agri + culture. Thus, the word refers to cultivation of soil including rearing of animals and some related activities.
