Agriculture :

The term Agriculture has been derived from a Latin term 'agri' meaning soil and 'culture' meaning cultivation.

It may be defined as a human activity involving planned utilisation of land or soil and water for the growth of plants and animals to meet the basic requirements of food and clothing.

Agriculture a primary activity is an age old important economic activity of man. It serves as a base for all human activities. More than half of the world's population is dependent on agriculture. It includes cultivation of crops, fruits, vegetables, flowers, animal rearing and forestry.

At the beginning, man started to grow crops and rear animals for subsistence purpose, but today agricultural assumed diversified form, with the introduction of better farming techniques and know-how. Farming Paris from subsistence to Commercial type.
