THE Major constituent of air are nitrogen and oxygen. while carbon dioxide,argon , methane and water vapour is present in very small quantity. mixing of undesirable substance in air is called air pollution. those substance which get mixed in the air and affect its quality adversely are called air pollutants. WHO has defined air pollution as the presence of material in the air in such concentration which are harmful to man and his environment.

sources of air pollution are : natural resource and artificial resource .

Major air pollutant are : carbon monoxide ( CO) , carbon dioxide ( CO2) , sulphur dioxide ( SO2) , nitrogen oxides (NO2) , hydrogen fluoride ( H2F ) and Smog ( mixture of smoke and fog)
