A homogeneous mixture of two or more metals or a metal or a non metal is called as an Alloy.

Alloy is formed when two or more metals are mixed together or a metal and a non metal is mixed together to form a different metal which is better than its constituents.

The reason for Alloying are :-

☸️ To increase the durability of Metal

☸️ To increase the strength of the metal

☸️ To make the metal more light, attractive and affordable

☸️ To make the metal heat resistant or more resistive or more conductive.

☸️ To make the metal better in every aspect.

Few Examples :-

☸️ Alloy of Lead and Tin is called as Solder.

☸️ Stainless steel is an alloy of iron, steel and carbon.

☸️ Alloys of copper Zinc and Alloys of copper Tin.
