alpha ( α ) And beta ( β ) :

Greek letters are used in mathematics, science, engineering, and other areas where mathematical notation is used as symbols for constants, special functions, and also conventionally for variables representing certain quantities.

In polynomial :-

we use Roots of polynomial equation usually denoted by Greek letters So we use alpha ( α ) And beta ( β ) as roots of polynomials , where we have to find roots by relation between roots and coefficient .

Example :

Show the relationship between roots and coefficient of equation 2x² + 6x + 3 = 0

Here we assume our roots are alpha ( α ) And beta ( β ) . So

α + β  = −  \frac{Coefficient of x}{coefficient of x²} = −  \frac{6}{2}

α + β  = -3

And,

α β  =  \frac{constant tan t term}{cofficient of x²}  \frac{3}{2}

 α β  =   \frac{3}{2}
