Hello sis
Alternations of generation means an organims completes its life cycle in two phases Haplontic phase and diplontic phase(Sprophyte and gamatophyte)..
Sometimes the major part of the organism's life is haploid so it has haplontic life cycle.
But if it has Diplontic life cycle then it means his major part of life is diplpid.

hey
The multicellular haploid plant structure is called the gametophyte, which is formed from the spore and give rise to the haploid gametes. The fluctuation between these diploid and haploid stages that occurs in plants is called the alternation of generations.
hope it helps
