Alveoli are small air sacs in the lungs. There are billion of these in the lungs and the purpose of these is to supply deoxygenated blood with a supply of oxygen through gas exchange. Exchange of gases takes place through alveoli.

Alveoli are tiny sacs within our lungs that allow oxygen and carbondioxide to move between the lungs and bloodstream.The function of alveoli is to assist in oxygen exchange throught he membranes of the small balloon like structures.
