" Ammonification "

The literal meaning says, that fixation of Ammonia. As simply it is related to Ammonia.

We can define Ammonification as act of impregnating with ammonia, like in soil.

This Ammonification in terms of nitrogen cycle can be explained as, the the process of impregnating plant and animal protein of dead and decaying organism and animal faeces.

This results to the formation of Ammonia, which then turns into nitrites and then nitrites in soil.
