What is ammonium hydroxide a? Why is the term misleading (explain with a suitable equation), and what would be a better term for it?

NH4OH is the chemical formula of ammonia hydroxide.
The combination of Ammonia and water leads to Ammonia hydroxide.
NH3+H2O------->>NH4+OH
